Be sure to follow the "True Colors Boer Goat Sale" page on Facebook, by clicking the "Like" button for photos & info regarding the sale. Our consignments will be posted on our "2013 True Colors Sale" page of this website as well. 4H & FFA Market Goats:We have once again been blessed with 4H kids placing well with their market projects purchased from our farm in 2012. I will be working at updating the At The Shows page of our website to list placings as I become aware of them & post photos. Congratulations to all kids who participate in their local 4H & FFA programs...........regardless of where the judge places your goat! PA Livestock Center Meat Goat Test:Losch's Riverview Farm Boer Goats participated in the PA Livestock Center Meat Goat Test Program in 2012. We were honored to have had the highest selling buck, Losch's R.V.F. Spot's Fire n Ice, in the entire test program. His data, along with others can be found on the Livestock Evaluation website. Photos & info can be seen on our "For Sale" page. Losch's R.V.F. Spot's Fire n Ice (Sired by TAM Spotted Spattered) was sold to Prosperity Acres in MD. Congratulations to the Bowens! In 2011, the only buck we entered was sired by AABG BDV Kicks on Fire, with Losch's R.V.F. Red Ellie as his dam. He finished 3rd in his division (Jr.) & sold as the 2nd highest in that division! We are pleased to consistantly rank in the upper 1/3 of this test program in the years in which we have participated! Although our interest is heavily into colored animals, we are still firmly grounded in producing goats that exhibit excellent weight gains. MD Pasture Based Test Program:AABG BDV Kicks on Fire also sired the top selling buck in the MD Pasture Based Test Program in 2011! The dam was Losch's R.V.F. Top Spot's Sasha.....a solid black doe. Our Buck had the 2nd lowest FEC's (fecal egg counts) in the entire test. In the case of parasite resistance......low FEC's are desired. His weight gain on a pasture only diet for 4 months was above the average daily gain of the 80 bucks on test. These bucks came from a variety of breeders and various states across the USA. Unfortunately, we were unable to consign any bucks to the 2012 test program. There were 3 major events within the time frame of 1 week & we could not attend all 3. We are planning & organizing ahead this year & hope to resume our consignments to the 2013 test.
